Spring Historical Art Sale, Wednesday April 16 to Wednesday 23 only.

Spring is a good time to live lighter, and a time to pare down one’s BC art collection. From April 16 to April 23, Mona Fertig and Peter Haase will be having an art and book sale in their press room near Ganges. Original historical work by BC artists include; 9 unframed gouaches, landscapes and visual diaries, by Jack Akroyd (1921-1996), these are the last of his work from his estate; two 1940’s George Fertig (1915-1983) oil paintings (when he began painting and took a night school course from Fred Varley); a John Richards (1945- ) 1981 oil painting of the New World Hotel, New Westminster; a large framed portrait (print) by Rachel Berman/Susan King (1946-2014), a framed Ardath Davis still life (1939-?); a small Lenore Tkachuck (1934-2005) oil of a Richmond farmland 1987; Peter Paul Ochs (1931-1994) 1960’s small mahogany sculpture/maquette; a Kat Gallon oil (1946-?); and a ink on paper painting by Ojibwa artist Ahmoo Angeconeb (1955-2017). As well as some miscellaneous artist prints (including a vintage reproduction of a Diego Rivera painting) / linocuts, signed Phyllis Webb collage, letterpressed poetry broadsides, poetry chapbooks, and trade books.
