Birthing Families Foundation’s (BFF) AGM is coming up and we are looking for board members!
Birthing Families Foundation(BFF) is a reproductive justice based charitable organization whose mission is to support vulnerable people with perinatal care in the form of skilled doula services, community support and food security. BFF provides continuing education to perinatal professionals and is working on large scale systems challenges that impact all birthing families. Our programs are currently located on Vancouver island and the gulf islands.
Our main goals for 2024/2025 are to:
-Build a 3-5 year fundraising strategy
-Continue strengthening and expanding our doula program: we now have Doulas mid island (Nanaimo and Port Alberni).
-Secure funding and expand our pilot food security program (started on Salt Spring Island) for families/individuals.
-Continue to build community connections/partnerships.
The Birthing Families Foundation is looking for a solid group of people, especially women and gender diverse people, to help us hold a strong container for this organization. We are looking for radical people who are interested in making change, who are passionate about reproductive justice, and who keen to share their skills and strengths on a working board.
We have existing positions that we would like to fill, and also we are interested in folks with transferable skills where we can create a position that is tailored to you, fueling your fire for activism and change in our current system while helping BFF move forward.
