In a mystical world, the Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry) seeks to plunge the world into eternal night by destroying the last remaining unicorns. The Lord of Darkness believes that as long as the unicorns exist, daylight will never truly be extinguished.

Enter Jack (Tom Cruise), a young hermit who lives in harmony with nature. Jack is tasked by the forest creatures to rescue Princess Lili (Mia Sara), who has been kidnapped by the Lord of Darkness. Lili’s innocence and purity are crucial to the Lord’s plan, as she is the key to unlocking the power of the unicorns.

As Jack embarks on his quest, he encounters a motley crew of misfit characters, including Honeythorn Gump (David Bennent), a forest elf; Oona (Annabelle Lanyon), a will-o’-the-wisp; and Brown Tom (Kirk Browning) and Screwball (Robert Picardo), a pair of dwarves. Together, they face numerous challenges and battles against the Lord’s minions, including the goblin Blix (Alice Playten) and her cohorts.
