Wrapping up a successful cycle
The 2021 Salt Spring Island Foundation's Responsive Neighbourhood Small Grants program cycle has seen a total of 28 projects go ahead over the summer. From a concert on Booth Canal to a tiny sharing library at Burgoyne Gardens, puppet shows for sick children to memory books for the elderly, this season has been one of the most creative yet.
On Sunday, October 17th at 1pm, there will be a celebration of these diverse projects. The community is welcome to join in on Zoom to hear reports from the project leaders and to get more information on how Neighbourhood Small Grants work. To participate please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Neighbourhood Small Grants is a grass-roots, province wide program that encourages community development at a neighbourhood level. Small grants of up to $500 are awarded to local people who have an idea in mind, helping community members bring their project to life.
The Salt Spring Island Foundation thanks our community partner Salt Spring Community Services, our funding partners the Victoria Foundation and Clayoquot Biosphere Trust, and the donors of the Salt Spring Island Foundation, for making Neighbourhood Small Grants available to our island community.
