Salt Springers care deeply about protecting our natural environment, but other critical issues affect our community’s well-being in ways that also need attention. We started this all-volunteer group to bring more people power into the decision-making processes that impact us all.
We work to identify key issues that need attention, open up closed or obscure decision-making processes, and invite people to use their stories, their voices, or their actions to make a real difference. We also build alliances and organize collaborations among diverse organizations and local government bodies to create solutions to our community’s biggest challenges.
We believe that together we can build a more just, resilient, and ecologically sustainable community that responds appropriately to the challenges of our times.
Our team is expanding, and we are currently seeking an Engagement Coordinator Requires approximately 20 hours weekly
Salary range $25 - $35/hr. based upon experience.
The Engagement Coordinator reports to the Board Chair and works closely with the Board of Directors and the Administration Coordinator.
This role coordinates the organization’s community outreach activities, participates in planning, and helps to identify fundraising opportunities.
Works closely with the Board to develop and design campaigns
o coordinates campaign activities, executes campaign events/actions, creates campaign reports
o assists the Board with media outreach related to campaigns
Develops an annual plan to:
o inform membership and supporters about the organization’s activities and the various opportunities for taking action during campaigns
o recruit and manage volunteers
o maintain the organization’s existing social media channels with updates and new information
o grow the organization’s social media audiences
o maintain and develop new content for the organization’s web site
Works closely with the Administration Coordinator to:
o Maintain membership, supporter, and volunteer contact lists
o Execute email outreach
o Develop funding applications by providing non-financial content for submissions
Must have experience with communications, public relations, or marketing, and/or direct-action organizations.
Must have excellent writing skills, be able to think strategically and develop positive relationships with members, supporters, other community organizations, volunteers, elected officials and the community at large.
We welcome additional experience with non-profit campaign work, and/or public speaking.
