Due to extremely low rainfall in May and June the District moved to Stage 3 watering restrictions on June 1st. With the forecast calling for more warm weather, the District has moved to Stage 4 watering restrictions as of July 15, 2026.
NSSWD is thankful to all customers for their cooperation and diligence to help conserve water by adhering to Stage 4 Watering Restrictions. Please refer to the NSSWD website for current watering restriction stage and conservation tips. The lake level trend data is updated regularly and overlayed on the Guide Curve chart to monitor when the District implements increased Watering Restrictions.
Conservation Tips and Tricks
For Outdoor Use:
• Let lawns go golden
• Use mulching for gardening
• Install rain catchment barrels
• Use drip irrigation instead of sprinklers
• Install a shut-off to catch and isolate leaks
• Dig a pond for irrigation use
For Indoor Use:
• Keep showers under 5 minutes
• Run only full loads of dishes and laundry
• Shut off tap while brushing teeth, shaving etc.
• Install low flow fixtures
• Put a bucket in your kitchen sink to catch excess water and re-use it
• Inform guests about our limited water supply
