Hours of Work: Casual Shift Work, day and night shifts
The Shelter Support Worker is part of the team running the Shelter. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and compliance with shelter rules, assisting with conflict resolution, monitoring the behaviour of shelter users, and enforcing rules. The worker maintains a welcoming environment by engaging in positive and supportive interactions with shelter users. They will assist in case planning and carry out strategies developed for the shelter users. Duties include meal service and clean up, housekeeping such as mopping, bathrooms, laundry and other general cleaning.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
A certificate in human services with a minimum of two years of outreach/support experience with adults experiencing homelessness, mental health and addictions issues or equivalent education and experience is required.
