Have you always wanted to try a new hobby in sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting or rug hooking? Are you new to Salt Spring? Come join us at our new Quilting and Fibre Arts meeting September 4, 1:30 to 4pm to learn new skills, socialize and share troubles with some experts and other beginners.
Would you like to try something out before putting out any money to start a new craft? We will have sewing machines, fabric, rulers, irons , ironing boards, cutting mats, knitting needles, yarns and probably anything else you need to introduce you to a new hobby. Are you not new, but rusty? Join in to tune up your skills, get projects re-started, or leap into something new. Are you a sewing or knitting expert? Join in to share your skills, take on a new sewing challenge and enjoy the company.
Our goal is to create a fun space where people can work on their projects and experiment with new techniques, in a cordial environment, on the first Friday of every month starting September 4, 2026until May 7 2027. Located at 520 Lower Ganges Road - use the entrance at the back of the building of the Baptist Church.
Membership is $45 per year which covers the cost of the room rental as well as free access to available equipment and supplies. For those who want to dip their toes - drop in is $6 per session. Students may drop in free. Tea and goodies provided by members.
