Yin Yoga is slow paced style where the postures are held for longer periods of time to create a moderate stress on the connective tissues of the body with the aim to improve circulation, joint health and flexibility. In this class, we use bolsters and blocks for support to encourage a deep physical surrender. This slow approach is inherently meditative and encourages quiet self reflection, self compassion and relaxation. We will begin the session with centering breath work and meditation to set your personal intention for the class. Working with a sequence of Yin yoga poses that open the body and the energy channels within we will move towards stillness and guided meditation for deep relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. There will be a lot of stillness and silence and the studio will be at a cozy room temperature so that you can truly relax.
