    Lindsay Whalen is a Yoga Therapist / Teacher with 36 years experience. She is certified with Yoga Alliance (YA) and the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She is certified with IAYT in the training of teachers as Yoga Therapists.

    Private Yoga Therapy approaches the client in a non-invasive and natural way at a slow and gentle pace.
    This therapy is offered on a one to one basis to facilitate in the healing process for conditions, ailments and disease. The goal of the yoga therapist is to carefully assess and identify the root cause of the problem and recommend a realistic approach which enables the client to experience the benefits of a personal, individualized yoga practice.

    Yoga Therapy works with classical poses which have been adapted, modified and adjusted in careful consideration of the individuals ailment and or condition. Gentle breath awareness and deep relaxation are an integral component of this approach. Specific practices are supported with the use of props which are appropriate for the individual.

    Therapy sessions are weekly and are 90 minutes long, offered weekday mornings between the hours of 9:30 to 12:00. The schedule is flexible for the client allowing for cancellations and makeup classes.

    Yoga Therapy covers the following:

    – mind and emotions – mental fatigue, insomnia, anxiety
    and depression
    – cardiovascular health
    – restorative yoga – management of stress,long or
    short term illness
    – hormonal imbalances
    – eating disorders
    – grief and loss
    – respiratory and circulation
    – auto-immune imbalances
    – stress management
    – lower back pain (LBP)
    – muscles, joints, arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome
    – addictions
    – pain and nervous system – chronic fatigue, migraine,
    stress-related headaches; eyestrain, sciatica,
    memory impairment
