Hello beautiful Salt Spring Community,

My name is Julia and I am a registered care aide. I’ve been working in a long-term care facility for more than a year and am now expanding to offer independent care services to the community.

I deeply understand the importance of compassionate, person-centered care, tailored to the varied needs of each individual, and have developed skills around creating a safe and supportive environment for our more vulnerable and elderly population. I genuinely love the work I do, and the connection with residents and clients has brought me so much joy and fulfilment. I believe my calm and positive nature has leant very well to this role and would love the opportunity to keep sharing my light and love with those who need it most. In addition to my care aide certification, I also hold a certificate in End-of-life Doula training and am First Aid & CPR certified. I am also just starting Hospice volunteer training.

My services include, but are not limited to;

- Personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Companionship and emotional support
- Assistance with mobility and transfers
- Meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Medication reminders
- Dementia care and cognitive support
- Respite care for family caregivers
- End-of-life/palliative support
- Assistance with Elder Admin and End-of-life planning

My rate is $60 / hour (minimum of 2 hours). My preference are daytime shifts; however, I am open to working out other arrangements. Overnight shifts would be a higher rate. Rate may also change depending on the complexity of care needed.

A little bit about me; I’ve been living on island for almost 10 years and have worked on farms, as well as had my own professional cleaning service for more than 5 years before becoming a care aide. I enjoy gardening, outdoor activities and dancing. I really enjoy art of all kinds, and also have an affinity for medicinal plants. I am truly a lover of all the beautiful things Earth has to offer!
