Oleanna by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet
|Organizer||Salt Spring Community Theatre|
|Date||Nov. 8 to 16|
|Event Length||2 hours|
|Location||Mahon Hall, Ganges|
Salt Spring Community Theatre presents David Mamet's controversial play, Oleanna, at Mahon Hall, starting on Nov. 8.
Despite being written more than 25 years ago, this play about political correctness and sexual harassment is more relevant today, in the wake of the #MeToo movement than when it was first written.
It follows that happens after a university professor offers to assist a student with her course, when she comes to him for help.
When the play has been performed, it has led to arguments among audience members over who is right and who is wrong.
Performances are Nov. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30pm and Nov. 10 at 2pm. There is also a fundraiser performance for SWOVA (Salt Spring Women Opposed to Violence and Abuse) on Nov. 13 at 7:30pm.
Tickets are available at Mondo Trading or at the door.
