LESS THAN A WEEK TO TELL THE CRTC WHY SALT SPRING ISLAND NEEDS ITS OWN RADIO STATION!!!
The CRTC put out the call to test the "market capacity" for a radio station here on Salt Spring Island.
The more responses we get, the more likely the CRTC will listen and call for applications.
The deadline for submissions to the CRTC is on January 15.
So far, we have had a terrific response rate from residents, with 135 submissions to date.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to send in your support.
The Society is doing a big, final push to get as many people as possible to tell the CRTC why a community FM station is needed in the Gulf Islands.
Simply go to https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2019/2019-384.htm or Google "CRTC 2019-384". Then go to section 15. Click on the link to "interventions/comments/answers form" and that should take you to a privacy page, where you need to click the little box at the bottom left. That takes you to the submissions page and ours is the second to top item.
An alternative, is to answer by mail to:
CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0N2
or by fax to 819-994-0218.
Any replies must be received by 5pm PST on Jan. 15, not merely mailed by then.
So lets get "radio active" in the final week and get our message across.
Salt Spring needs a radio station!
Don't delay, write today!
