Wanjiku is a dynamic, charismatic speaker and the author of three books. She provides an inspirational presentation inviting us to reflect on how we can leave the world a better place than we found it. Wanjiku is the founder of the Maji Mazuri Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. She has been working for over 30 years transforming the lives of children, youth and families living in the Mathare Valley Slum, a large slum on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. Her work helps individuals move out of a cycle of poverty. This has been possible through the establishment of a Head Start school, a micro-business loan programmes, a computer training programmes, and small-scale organic farming.
