Homecare Salt Spring in conjunction with the launch of the Our Gathering Clinic is looking to expand the team to make a lasting and caring impact in the lives of seniors on Salt Spring Island.

Homecare Salt Spring aims to help seniors safely stay in their homes for as long as possible by putting in private care with measurable health outcomes. We pride ourselves on not only being able to deliver care for the daily essentials of living (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding) but also creating individual nutrition and hydration plans, recreational therapy plans, physiotherapy, etc. We’ve got a fantastic team and we’d like to hear from you!

Qualifications/Requirements:

***Active, up to date qualifications in nursing, registered health care aide or community worker within the elderly population (registered with the BC Care Aide registry)

***Of vital importance is that you are able and comfortable with providing body care, peri-care, dressing with care/cuing, dental care and other body related activities and hygiene. These activities are non-negotiable!

***Be able to safely and appropriately handle medications and their administration. Carry out appropriate hand hygiene at all time when handling medications as well as wearing PPE (gloves for example) when performing body care.

***Able to work independently, on time and with absolute care and discretion. We live and work in a very small community and client privacy and dignity is paramount.

***able to write clear and comprehensive care notes. Able to follow and understand company policy and procedures and communicate in a respectful and professional manner with the client and team leader when clarification is needed.

***be able to drive or get yourself to various places on island. Our clients typically are not in Ganges. Being able to drive and reliably get to work is vital for community health care.

***be living on Salt Spring Island or willing to independently relocate here
