This year we’ve collected more books than ever — all cleaned, mostly used and good quality — set out in 40+ categories. There are lots of quirky treasures to be found! Most books are $1 and $2. Unique books are specially priced. Most kids’ books are 50 cents.
New this year is an “electronics” table with audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and computer games.
New books in some categories will be put out on Saturday.
One area of the hall will hold the exciting Jewels for Literacy Sale, with affordable used (and some new) jewellery of all kinds beautifully displayed and refreshed each day.
Cash and credit card (no debit) and local cheques accepted.
All book purchases are by donation after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
Proceeds benefit the Salt Spring Literacy Society, which provides various free learning programs for adults and children.
Note that Silver Shadow Taxi has donated their services to provide free transportation between Ganges and the Farmers’ Institute site on the sale days. Call 250-537-3030 to get your ride!
PLUS: Salt Spring Literacy Society members can attend the Preview Night on Thursday, Nov. 16. Enjoy wine, appys, guest author Derek Lundy, and a chance to peruse the books and jewellery and purchase your two favourite books and jewellery pieces. Society memberships can be purchased at the door for $10.
