Fawns hit by car

Fawns hit by car
Full NameIsland Wildlife Natural Care Centre

It’s that time of the year… fawns are starting to be big enough to follow their mother.

If you see a doe crossing the road, if it is safe to do so, please slow down as she could be followed by 1 or 2 fawns. They are still very young and totally unaware of the danger. They might cross the road slowly or might run after their mother. If you see one fawn crossing, expect a second one behind as twins are a frequent occurrence.

If you find an injured fawn, please call us right away at 250 537 0777 or on our emergency pager at 1 250 360 4939.

Thank you.
