Reporting to the Manager and under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse or designate, the Health Care Aide assists the resident in activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs and maintain optimal functioning while promoting autonomy and choice.
Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety and comfort.
Monitor and document residents’ health status, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, promoting a person-centered approach to care.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Ensure compliance with facility policies and BC health regulations.
Qualifications:
Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program such as a Health Aide program or equivalent.
Registered in good standing with the BC Care Aide registry.
Previous experience in long-term care or a related field preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A compassionate and resident-centered approach to care.
