Kids have cabin fever? Get out of the house and come down to Mahon Hall for some family creative time. There will be fun art and craft activities for all ages. Volunteers will have several stations set up for different activities: printmaking, slow stitch sewing, lantern-making, felting and other wool crafts. We will also have a space for kids to draw and color on their own.

About Crafting Connections:

Crafting Connections is a Community Initiative of Salt Spring Arts Council (SSAC) that brings together seniors and youth through hands-on pop-up art and craft activities at community and SSA events. The initiative creates meaningful volunteer opportunities for local seniors while expanding access to fun, creative experiences for families and young children.

At its heart, Crafting Connections is about building intergenerational relationships—encouraging volunteerism in seniors, offering the chance to share their skills and creativity, while providing opportunities for local kids to learn, play, and connect. By weaving art into community life, the project strengthens bonds across generations and explores new ways to make creativity accessible for all.
