The WHO declared a global pandemic on March 12, 2020. The very next day, the Salt Spring Forum filmed a remarkable discussion between Dr. Kevin Patterson and Aletha Humphreys, the Executive Director of Greenwoods Eldercare society, in which they considered the potential implications of the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus.
In the last two years, more than 7,800 people have viewed the discussion on YouTube.
We can now reflect on: How have governments done? How has society done? How has Salt Spring Island done, and what can we do to rebuild our community—and prepare for whatever might come next?
We are delighted to welcome Kevin Patterson and Aletha Humphreys back to the stage in ArtSpring—to continue their discussion, two years on,
Their first-hand knowledge from working in critical care medicine, and an eldercare centre respectively, make them ideally placed to answer your questions and to fill in some of the gaps in our understanding of what has happened in the last two years. And what we might expect to happen next.
