All Concerns Welcome
Counselling can help when your current life situation is not working well, is causing you some degree of distress or pain, or you want to make changes in your life. I have learned that all states and challenges—depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, trauma, etc.—are workable and can be transformed through care and compassion. Counselling can help you engage more fully with life—expanding your capacity for joy and connection.
Couples therapy explores where you get stuck and how to understand each other in new ways. Often long-standing rifts involve conflicts or injuries to the relationship that were never properly resolved. I can help you learn how to communicate so that both of you feel heard and cared for and can repair these ruptures in your relationship.
I also work with couples wanting to establish healthy patterns at the outset of their relationship or couples who are navigating separation and wish to do so amicably.
I help families restore balance, appropriate boundaries, and well-being for all members. Often we get locked into our roles in our family and perpetuate unpleasant feelings in ourselves and others. I can help you become aware of those dynamics so you can make new choices and feel freed up to be true to yourself while being in connection with your loved ones.

I became a Salt Spring resident in 1999 and am grateful to be able to bring my training to serve the community as a therapist. I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and a bachelor’s in contemplative psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and am a BC registered clinical counsellor (#15926). I am a PACT (psychobiological approach to couple therapy) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level I therapist. PACT aims to point out behaviors that sabotage connection while teaching behaviors that promote intimacy in relationships. IFS uses mindfulness of the body to access and release emotional and energetic burdens in order to live from your true, centered, wise self.
