Forest Awakening: Performance Installation

In the cedar grove just meters from Beaver Point Hall, transdisciplinary artist and immersive field designer Pravin Pillay and artist and tea specialist Jennifer Maksymetz (Tea Mistress) present Forest Awakening—a live data-poetic performance and tea ceremony rooted in the living ecology of our temperate rainforest, with soundscape contributions by composer Matt Robertson.

Cascadian Zen will feature short readings by local contributors to the Cascadian Zen Anthology and longer readings by our two featured poets, well-known lepidopterist Robert Michael Pyle with his new book, Swimming with Snakes, and James Dott, who will read from Touch Wood, a book about the keystone trees of the biorergion and the life of David Douglas, the namesake of the Douglas fir.
