Burns' Night Dinner and Dance
|Organizer||Salt Spring Island Scottish Country Dance Club|
|Date||25 January 2020|
|Start Time||5:30 PM|
|Event Length||~4 hours|
The Salt Spring Scottish Country Dance Club will be hosting its popular Burn’s Night Dinner and Dance at Fulford Hall on Saturday, 25 January, beginning at 5:30. You don’t have to be Scottish to join in this fun celebration of the bard, Robbie Burns. Among the Scottish traditions to be observed include songs and speeches to the immortal memory of Robbie Burns and toasts to the laddies and lassies. A full roast beef dinner, including haggis, are on the menu.
And of course Scottish country dancing plays a central role in the evening’s activities. At the beginning, some lively dances will be performed by more experienced dancers, accompanied by live performers; this should get everyone in the mood to venture onto the dance floor. The evening’s dances will be well suited for beginners, and even for those who have never danced before. All together there will be lots of opportunity to hone your dancing skills!
