connie fu (she/they) is an artist from Detroit, currently working in the Pacific Northwest on xwməθkwəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and dxw’dəwɁábš (Duwamish) territories colonially known as Vancouver, British Columbia and Seattle. In their artworks, they experiment with pattern-making techniques to find ephemeral spaces where order is slippery and boundaries vibrate. They use their body as a connective thread and disruptive device, stringing ideas, rhythms, and forms together on a moment to moment basis in accelerating time.

These creative strategies serve to shift emotional harmonies in social space, first through the being ‘enereph’ through which connie interacts with audiences, and second through shared experience that have few analogues in life governed by verbal, systemically violent societies. connie’s work has been presented at Osmosis in the Trees (Takilma, OR), Ground Hum (Seattle, WA), Active Passive vol. 5 (Galiano Island, BC), The Sculpture Center (Cleveland, OH), FiveMyles (Brooklyn, NY), and La MaMa Theatre (New York, NY), among others. Recordings from the enereph project have been released by NAGA (run by IHA), Delusional (run by Maude Vos), and Heterodox (run by Production Unit Xero). They have collaborated with artist collectives including Nolja (Toronto, OH) and are a resident of Acceleration Radio (Vancouver, BC).
