Bring your November self in from the dark. On Wednesday, November 12, we're gathering at the Salt Spring Public Library for Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World — the acclaimed new documentary portrait of the beloved poet who made paying attention a way of life.

Through rare archival footage and the voices of those who knew her, the film traces a life shaped by wildness, wonder, and the daily discipline of noticing. It played to full houses in Vancouver and New York this summer — it's a film made for an island like ours.

Come early for warm drinks and good company, stay after for conversation and a poem or two. Mary Oliver's books will be available for sale, alongside work by local writers and poets. An unhurried evening, home at a reasonable hour.
