    Item Description:

A multi-week guide to falling in love with Colour through drawing and painting.

From contradicting emotions to harmonizing chakras, colour has great influence on our psyche every day. Savour the richness of each colour in all its natural glory as we become attuned to each one, one week at a time.

This workshop emphasizes the fluid, sensual, loose expression of watercolour paints. The fundamentals of observational drawing will be touched upon each day from a personal documentary perspective, more as a simple guide to encapsulate colour. Here you are free to embrace and fall in love with your own style. The idea is to release negative old programming so we can move forward with ease in our individual creative practice. The beauty of watercolour is twofold- it is so compact you can take it anywhere, and like love, it teaches you the balance between control and letting go.

All materials are provided. Simply show up to this high vibrational space with an open mind, and a willingness to let go. Beginner and intermediate levels are welcome!

Saturdays, 10 am -1 pm, $75 per workshop

September 22 / Yellow and Orange, of Saffron and Joy
September 29 / Red and Purple, of Iron and Passion
October 6 / Blue, of Lapis Lazuli and Clarity
October 13 / Green, of Plants and Abundance

    See you in Class!

    My approach:

At Ocean Art Studio & Gallery in Ganges on Salt Spring Island, I teach art to youth and adults, encouraging them to set aside their fears and insecurities, to relax, have fun and not take themselves too seriously. Sometimes it just takes getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new to help free up creative blockages. One of the most enjoyable moments teaching is when a student begins to “see” differently for the first time. That’s a great discovery to be a part of, and one that continues to grow beyond the studio into everyday life. I’ve been teaching art since 2006, throughout North and Central America.

Other workshops offered: Kids Art Camps (Fridays, Spring Break, and Summer Camps), Paint Parties (Acrylic), Intro to Oil or Encaustic Painting, Creative Journaling (Drawing, Ink and Watercolour), Intuitive Abstracts, as well as Private Lessons in any medium. Visit http://oceanartstudio.eventbrite.com or email me to learn more.

You can find the Studio in “Merchants’ Mews” above the Barber Shop. Visits welcome Mon-Sat (and most Sundays) between 12-4.
