Eddy Jang (Jang Soo Ping) January 21, 1934 - April 30, 2025 Eddy slipped peacefully into the Hereafter on April 30th 2025. Best friend, advisor and entertainer to his wife Jan for 60 years. He also leaves his children Simon and Sarah as well as members of the Goodman and Girard family’s along with many friends to mourn his loss. He was born in Vancouver on January 21st,1934. His family ran a market garden, and when recompense for his labours was denied, he left home at the age of 15. He was unable to get employment at this age and for a time slept on the streets and made soup at cafes by mixing ketchup with hot water. In spite of this difficult beginning, he led an exemplary life. He joined the Canada Pacific Shipping Company where he trained to be a chef. The Princess Ships plied the Northern Vancouver Island to Seattle route. It was at this early age he took up smoking as cigarettes were so much cheaper in Seattle than BC.
