The last Full Moon of the year is a Supermoon arriving at 13° Gemini, shining across the cosmos on Thursday, December 4th at 3:14 pm. 2025 is a Universal Year 9 in numerology, bringing completion, culmination, healing, and closure, as we prepare the ground for a whole new cycle in 2026, which is a Universal 1 year. Universal 1 years indicate new beginnings, fresh starts, and initiation. So, approach this Full Moon with an eye to letting go of the past and beginning a whole new 10-year chapter with a clean slate.

Gemini is associated with the alchemy and magic of both the spoken and written word. Words are at the heart of spellcasting and ritual, mysterious energetic symbols that shape reality and the world we live in. Gemini medicine teaches us that words have power. Words can heal, comfort, and bring inspiration, but they can also distract, deceive and mislead.

The ruler of this Full Moon is Mercury - the Roman counterpart of Hermes - a non-binary mediator, a shapeshifter, a shaman - a psychopomp who guides souls on their journey to the underworld, and is connected to poetry, travel, magic, alchemy, literature and language.

Although Mercury has recently emerged from the underworld (Mercury stationed direct on November 29th) it is currently still dancing in the liminal as it gets back up to speed. And while communication and plans are getting back on track, we must remember that Mercury can also be a Trickster. We need to be discerning, and if we’re unsure, pause and recall the medicine of old tales and the importance of asking the right question.

And although this Full Moon may potentially amplify shadow aspects of Gemini - circular thinking, feeling scattered or feeling pulled in two different directions – at its heart, the Full Moon in Gemini is also about connection, collaboration, and cooperation. This may be a very social Full Moon, a time to catch up with friends, lively interactions, and fun short trips. Offer a sympathetic ear, share your perspective, and enjoy mutually beneficial intimate conversation.

Different things might call to us on this lunation, tugging at our sleeve, asking for our attention. Multiple directions beguile and it’s important to discern which are paved with fool’s gold and which are the path that lead to new thresholds.
