You have likely read news about the Trust Council meeting that was held on Salt Spring June 18-
20. Trust Council is the federated body of all 26 trustees. This report only relates to the
business of the Salt Spring LTC, which is made up of the two local trustees and an appointed
chair.
The Salt Spring Local Trust Committee (LTC) will hold its next regular meeting on July 11 th
beginning at 9:30 AM at the Salt Spring Legion, Meaden Hall, 120 Blain Road. Our meetings are
also livestreamed and archived for later viewing within a few days of the meeting. The agenda
will be available on the website. Office staff are available to help should you have questions

We welcome you to ask questions or make comments during the “Town Hall and Questions”
period at the beginning of our July 11 th regular meeting (at approximately 9:30 AM).
The following summarizes the meeting highlights for the LTC’s June 6 th meeting. For the official
record and for more details, please refer to the minutes and/or view recordings of the meeting.
We did not consider any land use applications or referrals at the June 6 th meeting.
In other actions taken at the regular June 6 th meeting we:
 Requested staff to have the project terms of reference of the recommended
amendments to the Official Community Plan-Land Use Bylaw (OCP-LUB) Update
reviewed by a contracted indigenous relations consultant.
 Requested staff to amend the draft consulting services for the OCP-LUB project to better
reflect available and anticipated staff resources, incorporate Ganges Village planning,
address project management, and consider 2024/25 fiscal year budget implications.
 Directed staff to prepare an analysis of major budget needs for the 2025/26 fiscal year
and to propose business cases.
 Directed staff to close bylaw enforcement files for non-permitted dwellings where there
is no evidence of disposal of waste on the land.
